Pollinator movement activity influences genetic diversity and differentiation of spatially isolated populations of clonal forest herbs

چکیده
In agricultural landscapes, forest herbs live in small, spatially isolated patches. For their long-term survival, populations depend on animals as genetic linkers that provide pollen- or seed-mediated gene flow among different However, whether insect pollinators serve herb landscapes remains to be shown. Here, we used population methods analyze: (A) the diversity and differentiation of two common, slow-colonizing temperate species [ Polygonatum multiflorum (L.) All. Anemone nemorosa L.] within three Germany Sweden (B) movement activity most relevant associated pollinator species, i.e., bumblebee Bombus pascuorum (Scopoli, 1,763) hoverfly Melanostoma scalare (Fabricus, 1,794), respectively, which differ mobility. We tested indicated affected populations. Bumblebee indicators solely between patches both P. a way can explained by pollen-mediated contrast, reflecting total at patch (including within-forest activity) showed unexpected effects for plant-pollinator pairs might accelerated drift due enhanced sexual reproduction. Our integrated approach revealed bumblebees populations, even if they are more than 2 km apart from each other. No such evidence was found significant itself. also higher enhance recruitment thus diminishes temporal buffer clonal growth provides against habitat fragmentation effects.

Study of diversity and morphometric differentiation of of Garra rufa (Heckel, 1843) populations in Fars province
This investigation was conducted to study of diversity and distinction of Garra rufa in some aquatic ecosystems located in Fars province. So, 208 samples were collected from five aquatic ecosystems located in Fars province (Rudbal river, Babasheikh Khalil subterranean, Qaderabad subterranean, Doudabad subterranean, Khargheh river) and 24 morphological traits were measured. Before data analysis,...

Isolated populations of a rare alpine plant show high genetic diversity and considerable population differentiation.
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Gene flow and genetic variability within and among alpine plant populations can be greatly influenced by the steep environmental gradients and heterogeneous topography of alpine landscapes. In this study, the effects are examined of natural isolation of alpine habitats on genetic diversity and geographic structure in populations of C. thyrsoides, a rare and isolated European...
متن کاملGenetic diversity and differentiation of Kermode bear populations.
The Kermode bear is a white phase of the North American black bear that occurs in low to moderate frequency on British Columbia's mid-coast. To investigate the genetic uniqueness of populations containing the white phase, and to ascertain levels of gene flow among populations, we surveyed 10 highly polymorphic microsatellite loci, assayed from trapped bear hairs. A total of 216 unique bear geno...
